Interior design in Bowdon
Victorian and Edwardian houses, given their due.
Bowdon is one of Cheshire’s most prestigious addresses, grand Victorian and Edwardian houses set along leafy, conservation streets, with views out across the Cheshire plain. The homes here have wonderful bones, and they reward a careful, considered approach.
From our studio just down the hill in Hale, we work throughout Bowdon, honouring the character and proportions of these properties while bringing real warmth, comfort and modern function to the way they live.

Homes in Bowdon
Period grandeur, brought to life
Bowdon’s period houses are some of the most rewarding to work with, high ceilings, original details and generous proportions, all asking to be celebrated rather than covered over. We design to protect that character while quietly bringing a home up to modern standards.
Bespoke joinery, layered lighting and natural materials, made to suit the architecture, so the finished home feels like it has always belonged.
Why work with us
Built for Bowdon’s period houses
Victorian and Edwardian proportions
High ceilings, deep cornices, original fireplaces and tall sash windows. We design to make those work harder rather than flattening them under a scheme that ignores the house.
Used to the conservation rules
A good many Bowdon streets fall inside a conservation area. We plan around what can and cannot be changed, and we are comfortable with the process that comes with it.
Warmth in a large house
Scale is what makes a grand house feel cold. Layered lighting, natural materials and joinery drawn to the room are what bring those proportions down to something genuinely comfortable.

Interior design in Bowdon, your questions
Yes. We are based just down the hill in Hale and work throughout Bowdon, including its period and conservation properties, from single rooms to full renovations.
Yes, and Bowdon is where that matters most. These are Victorian and Edwardian houses with tall sashes, deep cornices and original fireplaces. We design to make those features the point of the room, and we choose finishes that suit the age of the house rather than argue with it.
That is usually the brief. Scale is the thing that makes a grand house feel cold, so we work with layered lighting, natural materials and joinery drawn to the room, which brings the proportions down to something comfortable without losing them.
